Grass for the cat, strawberry for Lena and the postcards for the heart ♥
Now, when I don't have many reasons to smile and also when I don't receive many postcards, these kind cards were a nice surprise.
They are the illustrations drawn by Anna Tvyerdochlebova for the book written by Anna Nikolskaya. It's a charity project, and if you understand Russian, you can read about the book here.

Oh, happy day!) I received two I-cards this evening =)
The first one was kindly sent by Betty from Hungary. From Hungary! And as you see, it shows two happy dreadlocks travellers in a beautiful city.
And another one is with Bob Marley. And with Hugo Chávez on the stamp. Girls send it last Sunday from the postcrossing meeting, which I had to miss because of neverending work.
Thank you, girls, you are wonderful!
And a little something not about postcards, but about life.
When you can't stop crying and wonder, how you still can wake up every morning, when feeling like that you go down to the subway and see there an old man, playing accordion to get some money and singing about the sun and great country... His eyes are clear like the sun he is singing about, and he smiles. And you smile, too, you just don't have choice.
At the moments like this you make sure again and again, that Bobwas is so right, million times right, saying those words about music.
I wish, you could hear that grandfather today.

This is a special postcard. Lena (both Ekaterinburg, and Sochi postcrosser) has sent it from postcrossing meeting in Sochi. And as you have already guessed, the card shows Sochi postcrossers, drawn by Violetta Ferchuk.
I think, it's a great idea, isn't it? =)
P.S. Lena loves the sea and flowers. Will you find her?

These are two postcards from Nastya. She shared with me her favourite poem, and I hope she doesn't mind, if I'll share it with you =) It's "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost:
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Thank you, Nastya!

Long Night of Museums, or Postcrosser'll find the postcards anywhere
There was the Night of Museums here in Ekaterinburg, like in many other cities in the world. I chose five museums to visit, and three of them were in the Literary Square, because I love literature and because it's one of my favourite places in this city.
It's very green and calm place, with singing birds and old buildings. Let's go! =)
The first museum I visited was the Museum of the literary life of the Urals in the XIX century. To tell the truth, it wasn't very interesting, because there was a small exhibition about Russian writer Mikhail Lermontov, and a guide didn't tell us anything new (but M. Lermontov is one of the great Russian writers, and if you are thinking what to read now, maybe you'll read him? :) By the way, he was not only the writer, he also played music and drew).
Though the museum itself wasn't so interesting tonight, I was glad, that I went there. First of all, it's an old house(and I love it), and its garden was full of flowers. They were so beautiful and smelled so sweet. These are only some of them. Unfortunately they are not as beautiful on the pictures as in real life, but look.
And now look, what I found there! Before the main exhibition there was another one. So small, but very interesting still. There were old (original) postcards, drawn by Lyubov Endaurova (Любовь Эндаурoва) and her sister Elisaveta Bem (Елизавета Бём) or Elisabeth Bohm, the most successful prominent author of postcards in XIX century Russia. Maybe you even have received their reprint.
And some more postcards =)
After this museum I went to the former post relay near the house of the writer Fyodor Reshetnikov (Фёдор Решетников). A guide was very enthusiastic, and he told us interesting facts about postmen and coachmen. There were a lot of people and small rooms, so I couldn't take pictures. But I can show you some pictures of this place, taken in different time.
If you happen will visit Ekaterinburg, find time for the Literary Square, you'll love it. Or better let's go together =)

The good thing in receiving postcards in the post office is that you can receive them even on Sundays. I got two cards today. The first one is from Christina, who survived Hurricane Sandy and the attack on 9/11.
Christina reminded me to be the change I want to see in the world :)
The second postcard came from Julia, not far from here. I love this bright postcard with very warm and kind words.
Thank you, girls!
